Ready for the Fresh Start Effect? Productivity Coaching Tips for Introverted Entrepreneurs, Side Hustlers & Small Biz CEOs | The JOYFull BadApp

As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, many people start thinking about spring cleaning. This year, instead of focusing on decluttering your physical space, why not start with your mind?

Spring is the perfect time to review, reevaluate, and possibly reset your intentions. According to research, tying a goal or resolution to a specific day or time of year, such as the first day of spring, increases the chance of success. This phenomenon is known as the “fresh start effect.”

By taking advantage of this psychological trigger, you can make significant changes in your life. In this article, we will explore how you can use the spring season to declutter your mind, set new intentions, and create productive habits that will lead to better health and happiness.

We’ll also share some tips on how to stay motivated and accountable throughout the process. So grab a pen, get comfortable, and let’s get started on a journey to a better, more JOYFull you.

Consider a Fresh Start by Setting New Intentions

Spring is actually the ideal time for resetting intentions and starting fresh, according to Katy Milkman, a renowned professor at Wharton and author of “How to Change: The Science of Getting from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be.”

With important renewal holidays such as Easter, Passover, and Ramadan, there is ample opportunity to reflect, pivot, and re-strategize for success.

Whether you’re looking to launch a new product, build your brand, or simply improve your daily habits, Spring provides a natural and powerful opportunity for growth and change.

Use this time to cultivate #JOYFullProductivity with fresh ideas, establish new routines, and reinvigorate your commitment to achieving results.

Small Changes to Support Your Fresh Start

  1. Keep a notebook on your nightstand and use it to download all your thoughts and worries before you try to go to sleep. It’s also handy for those 3 am can’t sleep thoughts that race through your head.
  2. Commit to scheduling a physical, mammogram, or dental appointment. This is part of self-care!
  3. Plan a weekend getaway. Studies show we get a joy boost just by planning a fun vacation.
It gives you something to look forward to.

Another Fresh Start Idea: Take a Personal Inventory

Jack Groppel, an executive coach and leading expert in exercise and sport science at Judson University, suggests taking a personal inventory to help us tune into our goals and priorities. This process entails asking ourselves some key questions, such as what we hope to accomplish in the year ahead, what motivates us, and what we need to do to achieve success.

By taking the time to reflect on these critical aspects of our lives, you can identify areas that require improvement, set realistic intentions, and establish a plan of action for moving forward with purpose and clarity.

As you embark on this journey of self-discovery, you can cultivate a sense of empowerment that will enable you to take decisive action and achieve your full potential as a solopreneur, side hustler, or small biz CEO.

Questions for Taking a Personal Inventory

During the month of April, incorporate these questions into your journaling practice or make a special section for recording your Personal Inventory answers.

  • How do you want to be remembered?
  • How do you want people to describe you?
  • Who do you want to be?
  • Who or what matters most to you?
  • What are your deepest values?
  • How do you define success in your life?
  • What makes life worth living?

In life, your dreams and values are not set in stone. They can shift and change based on your circumstances, leading you to question whether you are on the right track.

By reflecting on your values and goals periodically through the year, you can assess whether you are still on track and adjust your paths accordingly.

These questions are especially relevant during major life changes such as moving, starting a new job, or entering a new stage of life. Ultimately, taking the time to reflect on your values and goals can help us live a fulfilling and purpose-driven life. Research has shown that defining specific results and intentions can increase motivation and positive attitudes toward achieving them.

Additionally, taking time to reflect and reassess your values and aspirations can help align your actions with your true desires.

I encourage you to take advantage of the fresh start that spring provides and make a commitment to yourself to pursue your JOY and live the life you have always dreamed of. The JOYFull BadAPP can help you implement #JOYFullProductivity.

Remember, it is never too late to reset and start anew.

With determination and perseverance, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Embrace the season of growth and make this spring the start of a new chapter in your life.
